Newly installed grey paver driveway in front of a modern home

Services

Paver installation in the West Island.

Driveways, walkways, side alleys, patios and steps in modern Techo-Bloc, Permacon and Rinox pavers, built on a drained base that keeps them flat through Montréal winters.

Built from the bottom up.

Most paver problems in Montréal start underneath. A shallow, dense base holds water, the water freezes and expands, and the pavers heave in winter and sink unevenly in spring.

We excavate 12 to 18 inches down to stable ground and rebuild with geotextile fabric, 8 to 14 inches of compacted 3/4 in clear stone and a 1 in bed of 1/8 in clear stone. Water drains straight through instead of freezing under your pavers. It takes more time and material, and it’s why our work stays flat.

FAQ

Paver installation.

How long does a paver project take?

Most projects take 2 to 7 days on site. Larger projects, like a full backyard with pavers, walls, lighting and turf, can take 2 to 4 weeks. We give you a schedule at the design consultation.

How much does a paver driveway or patio cost?

It depends on the size of the area, how deep we need to excavate, site access, the pavers you choose and whether you add walls, steps or lighting. We don’t publish price ranges. You get a final price at the second consultation visit, with your 3D renders, before any work starts.

Why do you excavate 12 to 18 inches deep?

Most paver failures in Montréal start underneath. Digging down to stable ground and rebuilding with open-graded clear stone lets water drain through instead of freezing under your pavers, so they stay flat through the freeze-thaw cycle.

What joint sand do you use?

Alliance Gator Nitro-X resin-based permeable joint sand on most projects. It lets water drain and holds up well to rain and weeds. On the rare projects where resin isn’t a fit, we use Alliance Gator G2 Maxx polymeric sand.

What does the 3-year guarantee cover?

The jointing material and levelling. If the joint sand fails or your pavers settle or shift out of level within three years, we come back and make it right.
